Mehidy Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman reaped the rewards of their good performance in the recently concluded three-match one-day international series against West Indies as both of their burst into the top 10 of ICC bowlers ranking in ODIs, updated on Tuesday.
Mehidy, the off-spinner who was wary about his place in the ODI team before the series but ended up being the most successful bowler against West Indies with seven wickets, progressed nine spots to become fourth, which is his highest ranking in his career so far.
Left-arm pacer Mustafiz was also brilliant throughout the series as he took six wickets from the three matches, which lifted him from 19th to eighth position.
Shakib Al Hasan bolstered his number one spot in the ODI all-rounder’s ranking as he currently has 420 rating points, 126 points more than second positioned Mohammad Nabi from Afghanistan.
The all-rounder is also 13th in the bowlers’ rankings and 24th in the batsmen rankings.
Mushfiqur Rahim sits on 15th position in the batsmen rankings, skipper Tamim Iqbal moved one step up to become 22nd and Mahmudullah, who scored his first half century in the series finale since June 2019, also moved up five places and reached the 49th position. -new age
