The Bangladesh Cricket Board has asked all-rounder Sakib al Hasan to return home immediately as he did not take any written permission to participate in the Caribbean Premier League, said an official on Thursday.
Sakib flew from Bangladesh on Wednesday to play for Barbados Trident in the second edition of CPL but had to make arrangement to return home as he was asked by the board for not taking the NOC (no-objection-certificate).
‘Sakib al Hasan’ NOC was not approved and he has been advised to join the training camp,’ said BCB’s acting chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury.
BCB sources confirmed that Sakib had verbally told the cricket operation chairman Akram Khan but did not bother to wait the written permission from BCB.
‘There is some complication regarding his NOC,’ said Ismail Haider Mallick, director of BCB on Thursday.
It was learnt that Sakib had approached the West Indies Cricket Board for a solution with no avail
Trouble seems to follow the all-rounder as this was the third time he came under the BCB’s disciplinary committee radar in six months.
