The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Wednesday appointed veteran left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak as the third member of the national selection panel.
The decision was taken in a Board meeting held virtually.
Razzak, who played 153 one-day internationals, 13 Tests and 34 Twenty20 Internationals, confirmed the matter.
‘Akram Bhai [BCB director and cricket operations chairman] called me and said that the Board has confirmed my appointment as a selector,’ Razzak told.
Razzak will join chief selector Minhazul Abedin and his former team-mate Habibul Bashar in the selection panel, though it was unclear when he would begin his new role.
`I just heard the news. Everything is not clear to me. Hopefully, I will come to know in a few days,’ he said.
Razzak’s first assignment could be the upcoming New Zealand tour of Bangladesh, where the Tigers will play three ODIs and as many T20Is. – New Age
