Dinajpur district secured the title of 39th National Cricket Championship when they defeated Mymensingh district by four wickets in the final in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday.
Arif Reza, skipper of Dinajpur district, shone with bat and ball as he claimed 1-24 to help Dinajpur bowling out Mymensingh for 128 runs in 38.5 overs before his 46 off 54 balls guided them to 131-6 in 29.2 overs.
It was Dinajpur’s second NCC title after they won their maiden title in 2013-14 session.
Reza was declared man of the final for his all-round performance. Asaduzzaman Prince of Mymensingh was adjudged man of the tournament for scoring 154 runs and bagging nine wickets in the tournament.
