Suspended Bangladesh cricketer Sakib al Hasan was named in the Wisden cricket magazine’s men’s ODI team of the decade following his brilliant performances over the last 10 years in the 50-over format.
Sakib is the only Bangladeshi player who was able to make it to the list that featured three Indian cricketers – Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni among others.
Apart from them, two players each from Australia and South Africa and one cricketer each from England, Sri Lanka and New Zealand made it to the Wisden’s men’s ODI team of the decade.
Sakib, who played 131 one-day internationals in last 10 years, scored 4,276 runs at an average of 38.87.
Sakib also claimed 177 wickets at an average of 30.15 in these matches.
The 32-year old currently serving a two-year ban with one-year suspended ban after he failed to report multiple corrupt-approaches by an Indian bookie.
Wisden’s ODI team of the decade:
Rohit Sharma, David Warner, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Jos Buttler, MS Dhoni, Sakib al Hasan, Lasith Malinga, Mitchell Starc, Trent Boult and Dale Steyn
